Inmates are allowed one package every three months. The list below clearly details the acceptable items that may be brought in the package. Any person who attempts to introduce contraband into the institution will be arrested and prosecuted. We can't be more clear about this. As long as the instructions below are followed, your package should reach its intended recipient.
The package policy is designed to provide detainees with the opportunity to receive court clothing and items not available through the Commissary. This procedure regulates the amount of items accepted and to prevent the introduction of contraband into the jail. This is important to maintain the safety and security of the facility.
- First and foremost - No sneakers of any kind can be included in the package.
Order Inmate Commissary Package online - Each inmate will be permitted one clothing package every three months.
- Packages must be sent with return address and return postage guaranteed, or they will not be accepted.
- No UPS, FedEx, or Express mail packages will be signed for by this department.
- All items received will be subject to physical, electronic and fluoroscope search.
- Packages larger than 12”Hx13”Wx18”L will not be accepted.
- No food items will be accepted.
- No alcoholic beverages, tobacco products or items the possession of which constitutes an offense under applicable Federal, State or Local laws, or any article, which is readily capable to constituting a threat to the safety or security of the facility will be permitted.
- Any person who tries introducing contraband into the institution WILL BE PROSECUTED.
- Personal photographs (No Polaroid’s), magazine cutouts, or representative materials are allowed in reasonable quantities.
- No more than five newspapers, journals or magazines, in total, may be retained in an inmate’s cell at any one time.
Toilet articles for men - Mirror (plastic)
- Styptic pencil
- Special soaps
Linen Religious items (1 each)
- Common-standard crosses
- Medals or other regulated religious articles
Hobby Materials - Paint sets (water base only)
- Drawing supplies: paper and pencils (containing no metal) retractable pencils are prohibited
- Sheet music & musical instrument (approved by Warden only)
Clothing - Clothing, except court clothes, must be delivered with the package
- Pajamas (2 pairs) snaps or buttons only (no draw strings)
Miscellaneous - Books (soft cover only)
- Walkman - AM/FM/cassette player – no metal headbands, no clocks, (factory sealed only)
- Cassettes- factory sealed only, maximum of 10
- Newspapers

Officers are directed to accept only one package every three months. During visiting hours all package, money and money order drop offs, except court clothes or funeral clothes, will follow the visitation schedule using the first letter of an inmate’s last name. After visiting hours, money and money orders only will be accepted at Post-1 for any inmate between the hours of 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. Visitors are advised to mail packages whenever possible to avoid long lines at the facility. Tobacco products are forbidden in packages. Packages exceeding allowance will be returned to sender. Packages not returnable will be dealt with in accordance with applicable laws and procedures (including discard/destroy).
