"Recognizing the importance and value of family visitation, our agency worked closely with the Westchester County Health Department and the New York State Commission of Corrections to develop a plan to commence with limited family visitation beginning Monday Nov. 16, 2020. As part of that announcement, I cautioned that limited family visitation would be subject to change based on the COVID-19 infection rate at our agency and conditions in our region. Unfortunately, the infection rate in our region has increased significantly, causing adjustments to area COVID-19 restrictions and limiting previously approved activity.

As a result, after consultation with the Department of Health and the State Commission of Correction, out of the abundance of caution I am suspending family visitation effective Monday, Nov. 23, 2020. Until such time that it’s deemed safe to resume “on-site” limited family visitation our agency will continue to initiate measures that assist our residents in remaining connected with their families. Additionally, to support a safe and healthy environment for both staff and residents, we will continue to proactively apply measures that are designed to prevent, detect and respond to any suspected cases of COVID-19.

Thank you again for your continued patience and understanding during this extraordinary public health crisis." - Commissioner Joseph K. Spano
